Obituary of Ralph Herman Porter

Age 62, of Waterville, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. Ralph was born and raised in Digby County to the late Roy Savary and Helena Loraine (Peirce) Porter on May 25, 1962. He moved into KRRC on July 31, 2001 and resided there up to his death.

Ralph was working on writing a book that had been a goal of his for years. He enjoyed watching TV, listening to his radio in his bedroom and going to LTC (Computer Lab) in the Centre. He was often found reading and working on his genealogy project and looked forward to the Bookmobile when it came to the Centre. He enjoyed outings and different activities offered at the center, especially if they involved food.

Ralph was an avid coffee drinker and enjoyed doing research on a variety of topics, his favourite being anything connected to his family history. He enjoyed painting, collecting books, talking politics and he had a real ability to create nicknames for anyone that crossed his path.

Ralph is survived by his sister, Geraldine Porter-Peters, Albony, PEI; brothers, Kenneth Porter, Windsor and Brian Porter, Nauwigewauk, NB; nieces, Tina (Justin) Cutler, Windsor; Lisa Porter (Alex Doucet), Fredericton NB; Rachel (Bryan) Folgia, Jemseg, NB; Amber Porter, Fredericton NB; Nancy (Sean) Doyle, Tignish, PEI; nephew, Stanley Porter, Banff, AB; along with many great nephews and nieces.

Besides both parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his brother, Allison Roy Porter and brother in-law, Frank Peters.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and residents of KRRC for the care and love shown to Ralph over the years.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Ralph’s wishes, the family has chosen to have a private family interment.
