Obituary of Adam James Armstrong

Age 42, of Union Corner, formerly of Kempt Shore. It is with immense sadness and broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Adam on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax.

Born August 29, 1982, in Halifax, he was the beloved son of Jimmie Armstrong (Wendy Brown) and Cheryl (Hill) Armstrong. He was an older brother to Morgan; the proud father to his daughter, Madisen (Noah) and son, Michael. He is also survived by the children’s mother, CJ; aunts, Carol (Doug) O’Leary and Brenda Armstrong (Trevor McEachern); uncles, Kendall Hill (who called him “Jake”) and Rodger White. He was close with his cousins, Robbie, Wade, Ryan, Jonathan, Kyla, Brandon and Alec and had special bonds with his friends, Wes Benedict and Otto Boyd.  Adam had many extended family members and a large circle of friends.

Adam was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lorimer and Joan Armstrong (Pups and Gram), who thought the world of him, as he did them; maternal grandparents, Clayton and Shirley Hill (Grampie and Grammie Hill), his Grampie loved to sit him on his lap and Grammie called him her little angel. He was also predeceased by uncles, Wade Hill and Farrel White; aunts, Joanne Church (Jo Jo, who loved him like her own) and Elizabeth White; lastly, his favourite cousin, Michael Church, who meant the world to him and he missed immensely.

Adam worked at many different jobs. He’s best known for his years working with his father at Armstrong’s Auto Sales, the family business he was so proud of. He worked at landscaping, managed several warehouses and most recently with Brison Developments. Adam was a hard worker who always provided for his family.  He made friends easily and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He enjoyed sports, especially hockey (Go Flyers!) and baseball.  What he loved most was being the biggest fan to his kids – whatever sport they were playing, whether a practice or a game, near or far, he was always there cheering them on. He loved taking them to events such as Monster Jam, WWE or a Moosehead game. Adam was so proud of his children and their accomplishments. 

Adam loved all animals, but especially his dog, Wilson, who was always by his side.  He loved walks in the woods, gardening, yard work, picking berries, going to the beach, golfing at times, camping or anything to be in the great outdoors. He loved to pick mayflowers for his family, he could always find the first blooms of the season. He especially loved to spend a beautiful summers day bass fishing with his son in the Minas Basin. He was never idle.

Adam was a bright light in this world and his presence in our lives was a gift. His memory will live on in his children, those who knew him, loved him and have been left behind to grieve him. We love you!

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A service celebrating Adam’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local SPCA in Adam’s memory. From tossing a ball in the yard to walking through life’s storms - you were there. Rest easy Dad. We will carry you with us in our hearts forever.
