Mary Ruth, I just learned of Ervin's passing. Obviously, unable to make it to the funeral, but please know that my and Uharda's thoughts and prayers will be with you on this loss. I haven't seen Ervin since my student days at the gypsum quarry in Mantua, but remember him as a friendly guy to be around.

Mary Ruth, I am so sorry to hear of Ervin’s passing. I think I met him once or twice, so I didn’t really know him. What I do know is for him to be married to you for 69 years, he must have been a truly special man, just the kind of person you are yourself.
