Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Sanford

Age 71, of Mount Denson, Hants Co., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 25, 1953 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Ellis and Anne (Dill) Sheehy.

Beth was known for her quirky sense of humour and enjoyed posting her daily “funnies” to Facebook where she had a lot of “funny fans” that looked forward to her posts everyday. Beth was a kind, sensitive woman and she loved her family deeply. She was a Brownie leader for four years in the 80’s and she was part of a very special group called the Sow Club. She was a member of this group for 44 years. They had a lot of fun and laughs over the years and developed amazing friendships. 

Her biggest joy was spending the summer months at Sunken Lake where she enjoyed her tame chipmunks, birds and beautiful flowers. She also got so much pleasure and love from her kitties, Oreo, Purrcy and Kitty.

Beth’s kindness, sense of humour, strength and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Beth is survived by her loving husband, Robert; daughter, Angie (Nick); brothers, Steve (Trudy), Mike (Kathy) and Homer (Linda); sisters, Nan (Jeff) and Sue (Garey); three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Stanley and Doris (Patterson) Sanford; dear sister, Rose and stepson, Brian. 

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 2. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, May 3, in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Celebrant Helen Lindsay officiating. If anyone wishes to say a few words there will be a time during the service that you may do so. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. A private interment will be held at a later date in Mt. Denson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Beth may be made to Oops Puppies (etransfers can be sent to: oopspuppies@hotmail.ca).
