Obituary of Mark William Flynn

It is with sadness that we announce that Mark, of Garlands Crossing, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre – VG Site, Halifax, just after his 42nd birthday. Born in Windsor on February 20, 1983, he was a son of Heather L. (Swinimer) and the late Earl W. Flynn.

Mark was a loyal friend. He loved to go hunting with Craig and Harlen. Gunsmithing was a favourite pastime of his and he had an extensive collection of firearms. Mark also enjoyed the company of his four legged friends, Brutus the dog and Rambo the cat.

Besides his mother, Mark is survived by his wife, Leanna (Chandler); fur baby, Brutus; sister, Tracey; nephews, Chase and Lane; aunts, Betty and Linda (Joe); uncles, Morty (Kathy), Tony, Duane (Dianne) and Bob; mother-in-law, Anne Chandler; father-in-law, Stoney Chandler; sister-in-law, Chelsey Chandler; as well as cousins, extended family and many friends.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by maternal great-grandparents, Perley and Mamie; paternal great-grandparents, Earl and Ruth; maternal grandmother, Jeanne; paternal grandparents, Morton and Joan; grandmother, Sarah; uncles, Terry, Bruce and Gary and aunts, Donna and Cathy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. only, Thursday, March 13. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 14 in the Brooklyn Civic Centre, 995 Hwy. 215, Brooklyn, Celebrant Helen Lindsay officiating. A reception will follow. A private family burial will be held in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mark may be made to The Family Resource Centre of West Hants, 61 Morison Dr., PO Box 2847, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
