I knew Carmen well. Every week he would hitchhike from Windsor to Lower Sackville in the early morning hours everyday to collect recycled bottles and can.
In fact every Wednesday he would past by our home and we engaged in conversation. At the end of the work day he would hitchhike back to Windsor, and oftentimes I'd give him a drive home.
Carmen was a very friendly and personable brother who always had a smile and worked extremely hard walking his route to collect materials. He shared with me that he would make a good wage for his time and efforts.
May my brother Carmen rest in peace. He will be missed. Actually, after Covid-19, I haven't seen him since. Rest easy my brother.

I will miss seeing Carmen around our street picking up cans. He was so fun to talk to and sing with as well. Always looking forward to retiring .
My friends and I would see Carmen go by on a ho
t summer day while we were having coffee at the Vineyard Church.
We would call him over for a cool drink and a rest. He would quote the Bible and then tell stories to make us laugh.
Condolences to the family and he will be missed for sure.

Carmen was such a kind and gentle soul. He helped me and my family a few winters ago when we had no heat. He reached out to give us a space heater to use for as long as we needed it. He was always willing to help anyone in need and never asked for anything in return. I know he will be missed by all he graced with his presence. Sending condolences to his loved ones! ❤️

Cool Breeze was a welcome site every Wednesday morning if it was recycle day. Always greeted my whole family with a smile. We called him the neighborhood watch. He always called me “friend” or “cool breeze”. I was just talking about him the other day. God bless his soul. He was a great man regardless of his situation. I never seen anybody hang so many bags of recyclables off one grocery cart and push it around lower Sackville. You will be greatly missed my friend. Rest Easy.
