
Obituary of Bernard Douglas Ainslie
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bernard Douglas Ainslie of Falmouth, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the age of 78. Born April 21, 1946 in North Salem, he was a son of the late Bruce and Leona (Turple) Ainslie.
Bernard loved baking, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Lantz); daughters, Pam (Melissa), Greenwood and Patty (Peter) MacDonald, Kingston; he was the proud grandfather of three boys, Ben, Liam and Jack MacDonald. He is also survived by sisters, Alice White, Edith Rick, Sarah Downing and Mary Barkhouse; brother, Hedley; sister-in-law, Wanda McArthur and many loving nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bernard was predeceased by brothers, Albert and Robert “Bob” and sister, Margaret “Marge” Weatherbee.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and Doctors of Unit 200 and Emerg at Hants Community Hospital in Windsor, as well as the Dixon Centre in Halifax, for the care they provided to Bernard and his family.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). As per Bernard’s wishes there will be no service at this time. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Rd., Falmouth.
