Obituary of Bonnie Currie Snair

Bonnie Currie Snair, of Windsor, died Monday, February 10, 2025 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, suffering from cancer and dementia. She was born July 3, 1946 in Windsor as an only child to the late John M. C. and Vivian C. (Miller) Fox.

 

Bonnie spent her childhood and adolescent life as a resident of Dartmouth graduating from Dartmouth High School and St. Peters School in Dartmouth in the Secretarial program. She married in 1969 and moved back to Windsor to raise a family. Most of her years she dedicated her life to being an excellent homemaker and raising her family to which she was devoted. When her children aged she did spend a few years working outside the home and went to Hants Community College and graduated from the Secretarial program.

 

As well as loving her family she loved the various dogs she owned over the years. Bonnie taught Sunday School, volunteered as a Beaver and Cub leader, in the Windsor Minor Hockey Canteen and in the WRHS Band Parent Program while her sons were involved in those programs. She was a dedicated walker and participated in fitness programs and yoga on a regular basis as well as canoeing, hiking and camping. Her main hobbies were sewing, needlepoint, knitting. crocheting and quilting and she produced everything from Halloween costumes and everyday clothing to wedding gowns for family members.

 

Bonnie is survived by husband, Raymond “Ray”; sons and daughters-in-laws, John and Lisa (Wilson) Snair, Moncton and Steven and Deanna (Henshaw) Snair, Vaughan; grandsons, Myles and Connor Snair; granddaughters, Morgan and Taylor Snair; step granddaughters, Amy Silliker and Emily Gourley; step great-granddaughter, Audrey; as well as special cousin, Cathy Kerr.

 

Thanks is extended to all who expressed concern, offered food, sent cards and visited over the past two years.

 

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor NS (902-798-8317). A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 15, in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor, Rev. Valerie Taylor officiating. A reception will follow in the church annex. Interment will be held at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bonnie to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6 or the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia, 112-2719 Gladstone St., Halifax, NS B3K 4W6, would be greatly appreciated.
