Obituary of Steven Donald Schofield
Age 54, of Lockhartville, Kings Co., passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Saturday, February 8, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Born on September 19, 1970 in Windsor, he was the youngest son of Donald and Carolyn (McCully) Schofield of Lockhartville.
Steven attended Wolfville Elementary School in Wolfville and Cornwallis District School in Canning, finishing school in June 1992. Steven was part of Acadia University’s SMILE program which provided him opportunities to go swimming and to do other activities. He experienced many activities while attending school and camps. Steven went apple picking, horseback riding, boating and tubing down the Gaspereau River. Steven enjoyed camping with his family, he loved campfires and taking walks in his wheelchair with his dad, making new friends as they travelled around. His smile was contagious and it drew people to him.
Steven’s favorite thing to do were chewing on his “Buddy” (a facecloth). His most favorite pastime was snuggling with someone and cuddling up with a cozy blanket. Steven’s favorite place to be was the centre seat on the sofa, between his brother, Chris and his sister, Nancy. From here he could make his choice of who would be rewarded with his amazing snuggles, giving the sibling not chosen a big grin. If Steven was not cuddling with someone, you could find him cozy and snug in his bed with his much loved, heated stuffed kitty cat and plenty of blankets. With a smile of pure bliss.
He is survived by his loving parents, Donnie and Carolyn; his adoring siblings, brother, Chris and sister, Nancy, all of Lockhartville; as well as several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Donald and Marion (Hutchinson) Schofield; maternal grandparents, George and Myrtle (Patterson) McCully; aunt, Myrna (Schofield) Singleton and uncle, Robert Schofield.
