To Mark and the family and friends of Anne, I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. I wish you all the support and condolences that I can.
Anne played flute in QEP, and I did around the same time there, and also trumpet. My memory has faded to the details; if only I could remember more. The Joy of the band music was always so wonderful, and I'll remember Anne by the songs and the uplifting music they played at our school.

Sincere sympathy, Ken, I just heard about your daughter's passing yesterday. I feel fortunate that I had the chance to meet and chat with Anne at St. John's church. As short as those moments were, her intelligence and kindness shone though. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Anne was my legal assistant back in 2006-2010 when I was at Stewart McKelvey. As a junior lawyer at the time, Anne’s dedication to detail and organization kept me on the right track. I learned a lot from her. When I left, she personally loaded a large elephant plant she had given me onto a trolley and pushed it up a steep hill to move it to my new office where it lived a long life. I was at the service today and it was a lovely tribute to her. In her honour and memory, I pledge to dust off my old cello and start playing again.

Anne was a kind-hearted person who would always be thinking of ways to help in the community. When we moved offices at Stewart McKelvey, it seemed that she single-handedly found homes for our surplus furniture, filing cabinets, etc. in community organizations.
With her sense of humour, it felt like she was always up to something. Sometimes it was a cutting barb about a colleague's run-in with a raccoon, but more often it was trying to help one of the many causes that she supported.
My condolences,
Level Chan

Anne did so much for the orchestra. She scanned our music and sent it to us via dropbox. She organized the files and if someone forgot their music, Anne would print them another copy. Often in doing this she missed her own rehearsal time. She was happy to work in the background organizing things and I don't think we realized what a vital role she played.

Anne was my "go-to" person. She was always there when I needed her - often with a sarcastic comment - but there for me, as she unfailingly was there for her family and friends. When I wanted to persuade my mother to let an "outside" cat into the house, young Anne, the first granddaughter, would manage that. When the snow was too perfect to waste, Anne was ready with crazy carpets to go coasting down steep hills with me. When I needed a ride into the city because I might need emergency surgery, Anne was there, patient every step of the way.
I will especially treasure the memories of our summer swims in the river, where we discussed everything from religion to education to politics to family and just enjoyed ourselves.
Anne was her own person from the time she was a little girl. I wish she could have stayed with us longer.
~ Cathy

I used to work with Anne at Stewart McKelvey. I started as an Articled Clerk and eventually became an Associate in the Labour Group where Anne worked. Anne was a great help to me, especially in the earlier years, as I learned to navigate the job and the demands. Anne helped smooth the way for me, often quietly offering suggestions to help me out. She also had a great sense of humour and helped me laugh at myself at a time I very much needed that! I am sorry to hear about Anne’s passing, and will remember her kindness. My deepest condolences.

Anne's sense of humour while I worked with her at Stewart McKelvey was sharp. I will never forget the tombstone birthday cake she concocted for me on my 50th birthday - many laughs that day.
I will miss catching up with her in the days ahead. She made a special trip to Lunenburg to meet my little pup back in 2021 and I always had time for her. Catching up was always a treat.
Fair winds, Anne - dear family be gentle with yourselves in this time of what I know must be profound grief.

Anne was one of my best friends since high school and that friendship continued on for 35yrs. I will miss her very much and will cherish the memoires of playing in our high school bands, marching in bitter cold temperatures in the Oakville Santa Clause parade while playing jingle bell rock, seeing the Great Big Sea in concert and everything in between.
My sincere condolences to the Sheward family during this difficult time.

Dear Ken and Mark and members of Caldwell Family, I was very sorry to hear of Anne's passing. She and I played together for many years in the Brooklyn and Avondale churches. (I have tried to find pictures but as of yet haven't found any) Anne was always the person who kept me on tract - making sure I had the right tune, the right papers, etc. Anne was also very helpful at Matthew's service. I have had both the lose of a sibling and the loss of a child and it is not an easy road to travel... may the caring thoughts of others help you as you travel this road and may Anne rest peacefully.. Thinking of you all at this difficult time..

With her brilliant smile, bubbly laugh, and quick wit, Anne brought sunshine into our home whenever she visited the ‘Toronto’ Caldwell’s. (Sorry, we didn’t go down east often.) Attention to the kitty cats first (spending much of each visit on the floor with them) and then homemade treats for the boys made Anne a most beloved cousin and niece.
Anne was truly kind and caring, sharing her love of family through family email lists, event planning, and keeping us all abreast about what was going on in the lives of all the Caldwells. Anne’s love shone through even during the COVID pandemic when she helped organize the family virtual Zoom calls!
We will miss her heart-warming on-line kitty birthday and holiday cards (Anne never forgot an occasion), her sharing of video clips of her much-loved music concerts, and the Sussex Gold she would bring to Toronto!
To Ken and Mark, our deepest condolences. Memories of Anne will forever stay in our hearts.

I taught Elsie, Donald and Ken in my first three years of teaching (1962-5) at Hants West Rural High School in Brooklyn, Hants County, three of the happiest years of my teaching career. I had noticed Elsie's obituary earlier and now Elsie and Ken's daughter Anne's obituary appears. At this difficult time, I extend sympathy to Ken and the family on this most recent loss, that family and friends will provide the consolation in the loss of a life well-lived.

Anne loved swimming. And we so enjoyed having Anne as a guest at the Cottage. No one was ever more willing to brave the waves of the Northumberland Strait, regardless of the temperature…although Cathy may have run a close second. It was a joy to watch them bobbing on the waves, smiling and happy. And when Anne did join the family gathering on the deck she was full of life, always asking about “Jason and Tara”, “Michael and Lisa”,Karen and Mark….nothing artificial, honest interest in family, more than interest, genuine affection. We loved having Anne at the Cottage.
And one more thing, from this time on, Sally’s much debated Green Jello Salad, reprised and made popular (?)once more by Anne will always be known in our house as Anne’s Salad. I think she would like that.

On behalf of the Four Seasons Orchestra and myself, we send our sincerest condolences to Ken and all members of Anne’s family. Anne was a valued flute player in the ensemble and her work as administrator/librarian was absolutely invaluable to us all.
Both as a musician and administrator, Anne will be terribly missed. Also, if I came up with some “hare-brained” idea, Anne would fold her arms in front of me and give the “really?” look! So that idea would be set aside!
Anne kept us all grounded, always had things under control, kept the music in order and cataloged with all music available before and when needed.
Play with the angels, Anne !
