Obituary of Lillian Margaret Campbell

CAMPBELL, Lillian Margaret Age 84, of Ardoise, Hants County, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in the QEII Hospital, Infirmary Site, with her two daughters by her side. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Lucille and Lawrence Sampson. Lillian was a jack of all trades and a master of many. She worked as a seamstress instructor for Singer when she was still a teenager. She later became a costume designer and seamstress for Neptune theatre when it opened in 1963. A few of Lillian's talents included: jewelry design, making dentures, competitive dancer, fine art painter, gardener, debater, crafter, fish breeder, dog breeder and doll designer. She was extremely competitive and usually took first place when she did compete. Lillian was also a business entrepreneur managing her husband's sheet metal business and running several clothing businesses of her own. She designed and made most of her own clothes and also clothes for her children and special event gowns for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lillian was a devoted member of the Baha'i faith. She looked forward to joining her husband in the Abha Kingdom. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Gary) Mosher and Christina (Joseph) Myatt all of Dartmouth; son, Richard (Wanda) Neave, Lower Sackville; nine grandchildren, Matt Mosher, Tracy lee MacPhee, Meaghan (Josh) Adamski, Andrew (Danielle) Neave, Mikaela (Stefan) Eisebraun, Joshua (Deena) Neave, Michael (Natasha) Mosher, Penny Campbell (Randall Colford) and Markham Mosher; thirteen great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Kayla, Tamara, Donovan, Jack, Liam, Simon, Emma, Jillian, Haley, Easton, Luke and Benjamin; siblings, Gordon, Doris Deveau and Vincent. Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her devoted husband, Douglas; sisters, Evelyn Pottie, Marie Rutka and Isabelle Doyle; brother, Vincent. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor, (902-798-8317). A Baha'i funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 10. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre with burial following in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King St., Windsor. Lillian's family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff and doctors at Halifax Infirmary unit 8.4 for their excellent care, support and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lillian may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, 112-2719 Gladstone Street, Halifax, NS B3K 4W6.
