HILL (McCulloch), Lena May Age 92, of Moose Brook, Hants Co., died Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her family by her side. Born June 25, 1924, in Moose Brook, she was a daughter of the late John and Lily (Lingard) McCulloch. Lena worked hard all her life and enjoyed farming or anything to do with the outdoors. She loved playing cards, scrabble, and doing the daily puzzles in the newspaper. Her memory was legendary, sometimes to the point of annoyance, right up until the end. Lena's greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by sister, Norma Benedict; daughter, Joan McLellan; sons, Lewie (Donna); Roger (Susan); granddaughter, Shelly (Shannon); grandson, Joey (Kay); great-grandson, Bryson; great-granddaughters, Taylor, Macy and Tasha; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Chester; sisters, Mable MacDonald and Emma Robinson; son, Claude McCulloch; and grandchildren, Charlene and Gordie. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). No visitation, by request. A joint graveside service for both Lena and her recently deceased son, Claude, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, in Moose Brook Cemetery, Highway 215, Moose Brook, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Donations in memory of Lena may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6, or Moose Brook Cemetery.
