SPENCER, Hattie Viola Age 86, passed away on July 11, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Forest Homes, New Ross, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Margaret (Arenburg) Keddy. Hattie worked as a seamstress at Windsor Textiles until she retired. Besides her parents, Hattie was predeceased by husband, Claude Spencer; seven brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by three sisters, Leona, Rita and Mary; two sons, Jerry (Carrol) and Randolph (Joan) Sherman; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving extended family, Kim and Wendy Cochrane, who she thought of as her son and daughter; and Ryan and Justin, who she thought of as Grandchildren. Hattie was lovingly known by so many as "Nanny". She loved to go to the camp and spend every Christmas and holidays with her extended family, Kim, Wendy, Ryan (Mylanie), Justin and her two special little ones, Layla and Logan, who she thought of as her great grandchildren. We love you Nanny, our sweet Angel now and forever. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A public graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 15 in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King St., Windsor, Rev. Bill Gibson officiating. Donations in memory of Hattie may be made to the Hants Community Hospital Foundation, 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
