SWINAMER, Carleton Norwood "Cye" Age 71, of Three Mile Plains, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Cye was a son of the late George "Jiggs" and Margaret "Maggie" (Dykens) Swinamer. He was a carpenter by trade and had a passion for his work horses, in which he worked in the woods with and took to horse pulls. In Cye's younger days he played hockey and tug of war. Cye is survived by sons, Mark, Norton, N.B.; Garnet (Trudy) and Kenny (Amie), all of Three Mile Plains; grandchildren, Jasimine, Keasha, Shayne, Toni, Phalieshia and Issac; great-grandchildren, Germaine, Nathan, Renee and Sophia. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Caroline (Parker); brothers, Eldon, Cyril, Leo, Murray, Ivan and Donald; sisters, Bertha, Marion, Caroline, Donna (in childhood) and Maxine. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, in the DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory of Cye may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6.
