LOWE, Owen Douglas CLU Peacefully and surrounded by three generations of family, Owen passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. To Owen, family was most important to him. Born in Halifax on May 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Lawton and Jessie (Campbell) Lowe. Owen was well respected in the lumber industry and very active member of his community and church. Amongst other things, Owen was an insurance agent for Mutual Life. He was a proud brother of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Owen had the privilege to meet and marry his loving wife, Isobel (Cochrane). They lived and raised their family in Stanley for 65 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Wanda (Bruce) Spencer; son, Michael (Barbara); son-in-law, Elwood Munroe (Lucy Rudge); grandchildren, Paula Spencer, Alana (Felix) Omolayole, Johnathan (Erica) Munroe, Nicholas (Jennifer) Munroe, Jacklyn and Samantha Lowe; great grandchildren, Emmett and Lucas Hamilton. Besides his parents, Owen was predeceased by his daughter, Sheree Munroe. The family wishes to extend their warmest gratitude to all the health care providers who were involved with them for the short time they were at Hants Community Hospital in Windsor and Halifax Infirmary. Everyone treated Owen and his family with grace and loving hands. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 5. A funeral service celebrating Owen's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Carson Baxter officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Private interment will be held in St. Stephen's Anglican Cemetery, Stanley. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Owen may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, c/o Shirley Tanswell, 601 Highway 236, RR 1, Scotch Village, NS B0N 2G0.
