TRACEY, Lawrence Avon - 86, of Mount Denson, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with his family by his side. Born January 23, 1926 he was a son of the late George and Eva (Boyd) Tracey.Lawrence is survived by sons, Bernard (Norma); Shane (Ann), Trevor (Starr); daughters, Anna Atwell (Rodney); Linda Atwell (Steven); grandchildren, Christine Caldwell (Todd), Andrew Tracey (Kelly), Jeremy Tracey (Elaine), Taunya Whiston, Jody Tracey (Angie), Natasha Campbell (Stewart), Tia Pinch (Matthew), Dana Atwell (Angel), Nathan Atwell (Whitney), Misty-Lee Atwell, Tiffany Atwell, Codi-Ann Tracey, Cassidy Tracey; 22 great grandchildren; brother, Terry Penny; sisters, Lova Guptell and Carol Miller. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Bessie (April 2011); brothers, Russ, Merton, George, Glen and Murray Penny; sisters, Gladys Shaw and Leah King.Lawrence had a great sense of humour, loved music, dancing and storytelling. He prided himself on his hard work. He loved farming, hunting and family and was very much a people person who loved to socialize. He was very involved in the community and the church.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors Friday, March 2, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, Rev. Virginia DeAdder officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre, followed by burial in Mount Denson Cemetery.
